The challenge for me is I will get the insight almost immediately (or a guide will drop it in) but I will still be feeling the emotion (which kinda takes the fun out of the feels anyway, lol). It can't blunt the impact of the "earthquake" but I'm not sure if that's a good thing? How do we know when our quake is over and its time to access and change if needed?

Great question and insight. <3

I think for me the answer is:

By being gentle with myself.

Taking in all the signals as data and not verdicts.

Then allowing the meaning-making process after I’m regulated from the quake. <3

So you’re taking in data the entire way through. I think the difference is your internal posture while in the trigger. It’s good to note it, but not draw any conclusions until you’re regulated again.

Thanks for such a great question!

And there is me crying at the very first section… That’s me. That is exactly what happens. It doesn’t even have to be a disagreement, just something happening out of the ordinary. My brain invents all the worse case scenarios it possibly could and of course I choose the worst one as the most likely outcome.

First of all, so much care for you and your beautiful vulnerability. None of that means anything bad about you. The only lens to see it through that has high fidelity is the lens of deep self-compassion.

You wouldn’t have that pattern if historical circumstances didn’t hurt you along the way. Please be so deeply gentle with yourself. <3

You may really like the other two articles that I link at the top. They're helpful and one of them was based around my own vulnerable story in January this year on my 50th birthday.
